Keep watching the companies you get services from

Here's my story and others too, about 200,000 experienced the same. Shutdown of 'SunRocket' VOIP services. I was Sunrocket customer for about an year, as i thought they were doing good and the service looks reasonable, i had one year plan early in july 2006. After an year service, in june last week, the service is renewed automatically for one more year which totals to $220, as i forgot to call them up or speak for future service.
on july 20, i got a mail from sunrocket that "they are closing their operations and given options to switch to other preferred voip carriers". I was initially thinking this mail could be hoax and thought i could speak to them regarding the mail , next day which is saturday. Well, after seeing their website, the information is clear, home page of sunrocket says all about it, calling customer service leave the message about their shutdown and say goodbye.

I have learnt a lesson now. Here's the caveat, Keep Track of How & what the company is doing from which you are getting the service.

Since i have not known about this issue until i get a mail and there are lot of news about this company going on for a month or so. It should have been better for me had i kept an eye on the company i get service from. There are news about sunrocket C level executives being fired and many of employees getting fired etc in June last week or so. Had i known this , i would not have renewed ,rather i would not have allowed to renew it automatically.

I have a small TIP for getting all information regarding the company or product you are interested in on a daily to daily basis. Just use 'YAHOO ALERTS' service, key in your word and alerts service will mail/IM etc all the news to your ID.
